LM2 Construction to Lead One of KC’s Most Impactful Rebuilds

Community First
A major transformation is coming to 31st and Troost, and LM2 Construction is helping bring it to life.
Reconciliation Services has launched the final phase of its $13 million Reveal Strength capital campaign to rebuild its historic building—one that’s served the community since 1987 and, as Executive Director Father Justin Mathews put it, has been "held together with duct tape, plaster, and prayer."
The new facility will double down on the organization’s mission: providing trauma therapy, mental health care, social services, and a welcoming space for more than 4,000 Kansas Citians annually. It will include expanded space for Thelma’s Kitchen, an outdoor therapy garden, a solar-powered energy system, and full accessibility upgrades.
LM2 Construction is proud to be named the lead construction partner on the project, alongside Straub. The design is led by BNIM Architects. As a Black, woman-owned firm, LM2's involvement speaks directly to the project’s values: equity, representation, and community-rooted development.
“This isn’t just a rebuild—it’s a reinvestment in Troost that keeps the community front and center,” said Mathews.
