Kansas City Families Find Hope as LM2 Construction Steps In

This week, LM2 Construction stepped in to help local families facing sudden SNAP benefit losses. On Monday, the company donated $300 to $500 to 30 families with students at the Emmanuel Family and Child Development Center in Kansas City.

These families recently lost their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, with many also facing potential childcare disruptions as federal funding pauses continue to affect Head Start programs. Emmanuel’s Executive Director, Deborah Mann, shared that they are “walking by faith” as they navigate uncertain days ahead.

For parents like Mariel Chacon and Donesha Cornelius, LM2’s donation provided more than financial support—it brought peace of mind. “We feel like doors are closing, but then there’s support that will help you,” said Chacon.

LM2’s founder, LaTasha McCall, emphasized that community action remains essential as families wait for partial SNAP funding to resume. “They can partially do it, they can do it, we’re just doing our part,” McCall said.

Mann expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support, calling it “a community coming through as I thought they would.”
